An essential part of everyday life is handling conflict in a productive manner. The method in which power is applied in conflict situations has a lot to do with the way a problem can be resolved constructively. Whether you are having conflict in the organizational setting, group or on the individual or family level I can teach you effective and mutually satisfying ways of negotiating productively and positively. The tools that I bring to you will assist you in mediating conflict as opposed to indecision and confusion. I will show you or your organization how to advocate for realistic outcomes rather than unrealistic perceptions. If you are looking for ways to reach mutually acceptable solutions to tough problems please call or email Interactions Counseling P.C.
We all carry around a mental picture of how we would like the world to be, slow paced, under control, giving. However, we live in a world of responsibilities that often lead to tension and stress and we often view our lives as out of control and downright miserable. The roller coaster ride of life can be difficult to cope but with the right attitude I can teach you to draw on internal and external resources that will ease the pressure in your daily life. For example, we are constantly faced by demands from different groups, organizations, individuals, and even ourselves that forces us to become less productive, anxiety ridden, angry, and impulsive. Using both relaxation techniques, positive self-talk, and diet I can teach you methods that will bring your life under control.
- You're having difficulty getting over or appropriately expressing your anger.
- You have anger-provoking situations that are left unresolved.
- You're so angry you can't get anything completed.
- You believe that venting your anger allows you to be more in control.
- You have trouble setting personal boundaries and limits.
Anger can be both a positive and negative emotion that you can use to motivate change in your life. Although current and past circumstances can escalate into anger, let me teach you proven deescalating techniques that allow you to remain in control of your emotions. For many years I have been teaching anger management skills to organizations, groups, and individuals and enjoy taking the anger out of peoples' lives. If you or your organization has an anger issues that may affect productivity, relationships, or are causing physical harm please call or email Interactions Counseling P.C.
Workshops are an important teaching aide to those who are uncomfortable with individual therapy. My approach to teaching workshops is to be both humorous and tactful. Because these workshops are educational I gently encourage everyone to voice their difficulties while helping other members work through their problems. Presently, I teach on topics that include anger management, loss and crisis, conflict, and helping the family cope with major mental disorders and physical disabilities. Additionally, I have also taught pluralism and diversity and TQM in the corporate setting. Ellen Berk, LCSW, BCD
